Shaadi Mai Zaroor Ana is a full entertainment package
Actor RajKummar who is still winning accolades for his terrific performance in Newton, India’s official entry to the Oscar’s this year, seems to be in no mood to stop. Today, his much- awaited film Shaadi Mai Zaroor Ana has hit the theatres. The film opens as a love story. Two families in Kanpur are busy in finding good match for their children and force Satyendra Mishra( Rajkummar Rao) and Aarti Shukla( Kriti Kharbanda) to meet.
Sattu’s stable job and upper class family background impresses Aarti’s parents, while his liberal thoughts, wins over the girl. Everything seems well between both of them, the subtle romance, and the melodious music. But the love story takes a drastic turn when Aarti flees from her marriage.
She fears that after marriage she will end up as a housewife so an ambitious Aarti sacrifices her love Sattu as she chooses her independence. After facing rejection, Sattu becomes a changed person. But both of them meet after few years later. What unfolds forms the story.
Director Ratna Sinhaa has addressed a lot of issues in the film like dowry, bribe and gender inequality, but Rajkummar Rao’s brilliant performance has taken away all the limelight.Talking about Kirti Kharbanda, she was quite convincing in the role of Aarti, and Kriti and Rajkummar’s chemistry was like icing on the cake.
The film could have been much better than it eventually turns out to be. But it is definitely one time watch affair. If you don’t mind watching a modest family drama, then you can go for it. I am sure you won’t get disappointed. I rate it 3 stars.
