The Mumbai Cricket Association is set to try out Sachin Tendulkar’s innovative idea of fielding more than 11 players in a game in junior cricket, before 2 Years Sachin suggested this idea.
To ensure that all the kids, who arrive for a game, sometimes from far off areas of the city can enjoy equal participation.
For this Sachin mooted a concept of 15-a-side games in inter school and college cricket after his retirement in 2013. However, last year MCA had rejected the idea.
After the lengthy meeting on Saturday, the managing committee had decided to try out the idea with 13-a-side games at an Under-14 tournament, which will begin from Monday.
Vengsarkar said, “A few months ago when Tendulkar discussed this idea with me, I thought of implementing it on an experimental basis for the U-14 and the newly introduced U-12 tournament. I am glad the other managing committee members eye were on the same page as me.”
