UNBELONGED REMAINS

UNBELONGED REMAINS

I never knew

How much of me was inside you

Until you decided to let me out

And now here I am

All to myself

Knowing not what to do

The cold scratches and bruises me

Pain cracks and spills out

The wound won’t stop festering

The suffering stifles my shouts

My eyes are vacant

Shattered hopes tear me apart

Chasing shadows after shadows

I now wish to depart

Each moment tramples over me

Crushing me under its weight

Struggling to gather the lost pieces of me

I realists too late

For I was swept off

Even before the wind started to blow

Each time you sighed

I went farther away…
