Have you had a moment when you scratch your head and see white flakes falling on your shoulder? Dandruff is a common hair problem that most of us deal with from time to time. It is a scalp disorder that can occur due to dry scalp, or bacterial/fungal infection or many other reasons. If you are also facing this problem and are looking for a permanent solution for it, then here are some DIY hair oils that will surely help you.

1. Bhringraj oil

This can work wonders for your damaged scalp and dandruff problem. It stimulates blood circulation in your scalp and keeps your scalp cool while reducing itching and dandruff. To make this oil, you need 4-5 bhringraj leaves, 1 cup coconut oil and 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds. You can also use 3 teaspoons of Bhringraj powder instead of Bhringraj leaves.

How to make the oil

Make a thick paste by grinding the leaves of Bhringraj. Put coconut oil in a pan, along with paste of bhringraj leaves and fenugreek seeds. Heat the mixture on low flame. Switch off the gas after 5 minutes. Let the mixture cool down, filter the oil and store it in a container. Apply this oil twice a week for effective results.

Tulsi oil

Tulsi is the one ingredient which is easily available in every Indian household, and tulsi leaves are wonderful ingredient for your hair. They are rich in essential nutrients, amino acids and antioxidants that fight dandruff and prevent hair thinning and hair fall by strengthening the hair follicles. To make this, you will need 2-3 bunches of basil leaves, 3 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and 1/2 cup of coconut oil.

How to make the oil

Put basil leaves in a blender with a few drops of water and blend it until you get a thick paste. Take out this paste in a pan and add coconut oil to it. Heat it for five minutes and then switch off the flame. Add fenugreek seeds to it and let it cool down. Filter the oil and store it in a dark colored container. Apply this oil once a week for effective results.

Aloe vera oil

Another popular ingredient for a nourished scalp is aloe vera. It has anti-puritic properties and proteolytic enzymes that help cleanse the scalp and remove dead skin cells. It is also known as a natural cleanser that removes dirt and excess sebum from the scalp. To prepare the oil, all you need is half a cup of freshly extracted aloe vera gel, 1/2 cup of coconut oil and 5 drops of rosemary essential oil.

How to make oil? 

Heat half a cup of coconut oil and add freshly extracted aloe vera gel to it. Heat the mixture for about five to seven minutes. Switch off the flame and let it cool down. Add a few drops of rosemary oil and filter the mixture and keep it in a container.

Amla oil

Amla is not only good for your health but also your hair. This oil is an exceptional remedy for hair fall and flaky scalp. This oil blend not only nourishes your scalp but also gives you smooth and strong locks. For this you will need 100 grams of amla powder, 1 liter of water and 250 ml of coconut oil.

How to make oil?

To make this oil, first start by adding 80 grams of amla powder and water in a pan. Bring it to a boil and boil till it reduces to half. Filter this gooseberry and keep it aside. Now take another pan and mix coconut oil with the remaining amla powder and let it boil. Once it starts boiling, add the amla concentrate that you have set aside and let it boil till all the water evaporates. Once this is done, strain the remaining oil immediately and store it in a bottle.
