Finally, Vice President of Congress Party , Rahul Gandhi, has filed his nomination for the Congress President Post. December 4, 2017 was the last date of filing the nominati0n and he has now filed his nomination. Notably, he was accompanied by a host of senior party leaders, including Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Notably, Sonia Gandhi is the longest serving Chief of Congress. She was appointed as party chief in 1998.
Interestingly, Rahul Gandhi is likely to emerge as the lone candidate in the fray, and decks have been cleared for his election to the post. He is going to succeed his mother Sonia Gandhi, who has held the position for 19 years in a row.
