The Indian classic ‘Sholay’ is re-launched in 3-D version and the makers of the film-the Sippy brothers and Jayantilal Gada have kept special screening for the family of Late Mr. Amjad Khan who played the world famous role of ‘Gabbar Singh’ in the hit film.
Late Mr. Khan’s son Shadaab Khan along with his wife attended the screening and when asked about Ram Gopal Varma’s version of ‘Sholay’, said that he did not like RGV film as it marred the original classic.
Shaddab said, “I felt positive vibrations as he was going to watch ‘Sholay 3D’ and he did not want to talk about negative people at such a good time.”
He said that while making the remakes of historical and cult films one should always have respect for the film and for the characters.
He added that making remakes of cult films is fine but they should be made with some kind of respect for the people who were a part of the original.
Shadaab Khan further added, “There is only one issue that I have with Ram Gopal Varma, if he is making a remake of an iconic film like ‘Sholay’, the least he could do was make a good film respecting the people who were a part of the original film.”
