Pepsi has decided to exit it’s relationship with IPL as it’s chief sponsor. The company has cited the series of scams which have plagued the league, while BCCI officials claim that Pepsi is loosing interest in it’s foreign entities.
Pepsi had comitted Rs.3.96 Billion for being the chief sponsor for 5 years from 2012 to 2017. With the exit, the final tranches of this may come under jeopardy.
However, according to BCCI general secretary Rajiv Shukla, this should not be a matter, as they would simply transfer the guarantee to the next sponsor.
