BSF termed as Real Heroes by Akshay Kumar
While, terming BSF troops as the “real heroes” of the nation, Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar has paid tribute to all the jawans, who had lost their lives in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.
Accompanied by the Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier, D K Uphadhyaya and also some top BSF officers, Akshay Kumar visited a BSF martyr memorial.
Akshay Kumar met BSF Jawans
Akshay, 49, arrived here this morning from Delhi in order to some spent time with BSF jawans.
“I am fortunate that I got this opportunity to come and meet you. I have always said that I’m only a reel hero; you (BSF jawans) are the real heroes. I play with the toy guns in films, but you with original guns on borders. Really, you are all very big hearted,” Akshay Kumar said.
“You (BSF) jawans should have been here (at the stage) and I should be the one at your place.”
Amid slogans, actor also said that he had a wish to meet BSF jawans.
“Today I thank BSF for giving me opportunity to meet you all.”
Earlier, the actor, whose father was also an army man, had donated a sum of Rs 9 lakh to the family of a martyred BSF jawan Gurnaam Singh.
This donation came days after his earlier donation of Rs 80 lakh to the army.
“They have always been decorated with a lot of medals and that is something good.
The shaman (honor) was also required for them, but they need the money too. We should all be practical.”
The jawans queued up to meet Akshay Kumar and also clicked pictures with him.
“He is not only one of the best actor but a patriotic Indian who has cared for the armed forces. We are humbled by his presence among us. It is a good moral boost,” a BSF officer said.
