Inspection reveals unpaid electricity bill of 4 lakh from Mulayam Singh Yadav’s House
On Thursday, electricity department officials did a surprise inspection at former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav’s residence. After the inspection they disclosed that Mulayam Singh has a due bill amounting to Rs 4 lakh.
According to reports, the raid also revealed that the 77-year old Samajwadi Party leader is using more electricity than allowed at his bungalow in Etawah. Also, the authorized limit of 5 KW is being shattered by at least eight times at his house.
Electricity department officials has given a time period of one month to Mulayam Singh to pay up his all due amount.
The structure has been changed by the officials to allow him 40 KW in substitute of payment for the larger allotment. The raid has come during on-going VIP culture elimination in the state as proliferated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
According to reports, an officer said that the inspection drive is being done to keep a check on power theft.
Recent elections in Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav’s party had lost the governance under the leadership of his son Akhilesh Yadav, who was elected as the Samajwadi Party’s national president in place of his father by the party’s national convention this year on 1st January.
Out of 403 seats Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had conquered 312 seats while Samajwadi Party could only manage to win a mere 47 in the recent elections of Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, the current Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced that district headquarters will get 24-hour power supply. They are working hard to meet the Centre’s target of making the state energy efficient by 2018 and help in ensuring power in all UP villages before 2019. Also, tehsils and villages are to be provided constant electricity for 18 hours.
