1. Comedy Nights with Kapil
Indian TV show Comedy Nights With Kapil has the same concept as The Kumars at No. 42! Kumars at no.42 first aired in 2001 and ended in 2006.
2. Ek Hasina Thi
Ek Hasina Thi, which aired on Star Plus from April to December 2014 was copied from the hit Hollywood TV series called Revenge.
It is well known that Anil Kapoor bought the rights to remake the action thriller short tele-series 24 in India.
4. Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi
Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi was a copy of Ugly Betty. Ugly Betty first aired in 2006 and ended in 2010. It was a super successful show in America!
5. Karishma Ka Karishma
The Indian TV show Karishma Ka Karishma was copied directly from Small Wonder! It was copied so much that the dresses were almost same too.
6. Hello Friends
The Hindi version of American sitcom’s hit Indian TV show was a failed attempt. The serial had Nikhil Chinappa, Simone Singh, Cyrus Broacha, Maria Goretti, Mandira Bedi and Anil Dambri as six best friends. The show premiered in September 1999, but ended after just 26 episodes.
7. Jeannie Aur Juju
SAB TV got the rights for the old series ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ and recreated its Hindi version with Jeannie Aur Juju. Giaa Manek played the Jeannie, while Ali Asgar played a pilot who discovers the genie.
