India will soon set up eight new ecological observatories in many places 0f country to map the long term impact of climate change.
Currently, India has only one observatory and government is planning to set up eight more. Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that “We will be putting eight ecological observatories in eight different biomes.”
He further added that climate change not only impacts air, water and weather. In fact it impacts everything including biodiversity and to keep a check on ecological balance it is important to set up the ecological observatories.
