New Delhi: Amidst negativity coming from various strata of people for the Delhi’s Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader, Arvind Kejriwal, Nirmal an auto driver told One World News that he is very happy for having him as the Delhi CM. “Mein aur Mera parivaar bohot khush hai, unhone humaari tab madad ki jab humein bohot zarurat thi. Aaj agar wo nahi hote toh humaara parivaar toot chuka hota” (Me and my family are very happy, they have helped me when I was in need. Today, if he wouldn’t have been for us, our family would have been fallen into pieces) says Nirmal Kumar, a resident of Badarpur, near Dealhi-Faridabad border.
A family member of Nirmal was suffering from Brain-tumor. He took the patient to G.B.Pant Hospital, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. While getting registered for treatment, they received waiting list of 109, which would have easily taken 6 months. Losing all hopes they came back home, along with the patient. That is when Nirmal switched on the television and Arvind Kejriwal was giving the speech, and he thought “Humaare votes ne inhe jeetaya hai, aaj dekhte hai ki ye humare liye kya karte hai” (Our votes have helped him win, let’s see what he can do for us). He said, on 3rd January 2014 he went to health ministry and told his issue, to which AAP (Aap Aadmi Party) member responded on spot and gave him a letter addressing head of G.B.Pant Hospital. On January 4th, Nirmal took the letter to G.B Pant Hospital and within few hours he was directly referred to Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj. On January 8th the operation started and was successfully completed. “Ab wo patient swasth hai” (Now, the patient is fine) says Nirmal. He got a five star treatment in the hospital, the staff was very helpful and the doctors were so understanding. The entire experience has left him and his family all praises for Kejriwal.

On being asked if ‘Dharna’ is an apt way to fight out the situations in Delhi, Nirmal says “Humein toh kuch galat nahi laga, Police ke upar Chief Minister ka adhikaar hona chahiye.”(We do not find anything wrong in it. Chief Minister should have control on police). He also adds that the way police behave in Delhi, there has to be a strict law to keep a check on them.
