Technology is something that is growing at a faster pace, making it difficult to keep oneself in touch with it or let’s say it’s more of a competition now. Every now and then, electronic devices are coming up with astonishing changes making one go crazy over it. 2014’s beginning could not have been better than this for gadget lovers and trend setters, as they will witness some amazing launches of mobiles and tabs, one would love to have.
The Big Phone from Acer
The Acer Liquid Z5 is all set to get launched in its home market, Taiwan and across several European countries. Acer Liquid Z5 is an affordable phone with a big screen.
It has a 5-inch display, and is one of the largest phones you can get at the price – around £150. It’s a 5-megapixel sensor – a fairly standard resolution by current standards – and has an f/2.4 lens. It has a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, where most other screens of this size offer 720p or 1080p resolution. As such, text and images don’t look very crisp but it’s a low-cost phone with a very large screen.
Asus PadFone Mini
Newest PadFone features a compact 4-inch Smartphone that slots into a sleek 7-inch tablet and a fast, energy efficient 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor. The phone has a brilliant 8-megapixel (8MP) rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera for high quality photos and video chat sessions.
PadFone mini even supports dual SIMs for superb connectivity, so users have the freedom to maintain two distinct phone numbers, without requiring two handsets.
Asus has announced five color options for the PadFone mini. With a price tag of $249, the PadFone mini should prove quite the bundle for the budget-minded consumers out there.
Sony Xperia Z2
The rumored Sony D6503 ‘Sirius’, which has in the past been expected to have the same 20.7-megapixel camera as the Xperia Z1, in its recent leak of screenshots of the camera settings, shows off the ability to record 1080p video at 60 frames per second. If true, it will be more than twice as fast as Xperia Z1, which has the usual 30fps recording mode.
The smartphone runs on Snapdragon 800 (with a quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 CPU, faster Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM). At the back there’s a 20.7MP camera with a larger than usual sensor, while Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with a newer version of Sony’s home-baked launcher is under the hood.
Nokia Lumia 1525
Nokia Lumia 1525 is going to feature a 6.0-inch multi-touch capacitive touch-screen display. This screen will offer a resolution of 2K pixels too. It will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor along with 3GB of RAM. A 3,400mAh solar chargeable battery will be there in the phone.
LG G Pro 2 – The Big Phone
Korean manufacturer LG has made it official, its latest LG G Pro 2 phone carrying a 6 inches glass with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, and powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, LTE-Advanced support, and Android 4.4 seems to be ready for the market launch. However, the buzz about LG G Pro 2 as being the company’s first with fingerprint scanning technology is yet to be declared. The Smartphone is set to be announced at the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona this February.
Samsung ready to outsmart with Galaxy S5
Korean tech giant Samsung, which has given a tough competition to Apple in India, is planning to launch its ‘Samsung Galaxy S5’,with curved display, a new innovation seen in the Galaxy Round and LG’s G Flex and one which Apple is also apparently adopting with the iPhone 6, if rumors are to be believed.
Samsung has also patented a Smartphone that has no hardware buttons on the front of the handset. It’s also possible Samsung could be freeing up space on the Galaxy S5’s bezel to make room for the handset’s rumored fingerprint scanner, a new feature which sources claim will replace the previously muted Iris Scanner.
