The days are becoming longer the afternoons are turning hot, all this while the weather is already playing tricky! Surely it is the descend of winters and the onset of spring, yet some of us especially women do not like this change as the skin tends to become dry, rough and flaky during this time. This sets in the worry. However, there are a lot of remedies which makes the skin stay well nourished and glowing even during these drastic weather changes. One just needs to be patient and consistent in a beauty routine. Here’s what all you can do.
Carrots and avocados are excellent sources of skin-nourishing vitamins that can help rejuvenate winter skin just in time for this season of rebirth and renewal. Combine them with a few other spring foods, and you’ve got a homemade skincare ritual that would make Mother Nature proud.
1) Lemon cleanser :
• 1/8 cup ground almonds (A coffee grinder works well)
• 2 tbs milk or cream
• 1 tsp lemon juice
Combine thoroughly, and use to gently cleanse skin. Rinse well with warm water
2) Carrot Face Mask:- :
High in antioxidant compounds and pro-vitamin A carotenes, carrots can help nourish you skin from within and outside too.
• 2 large organic carrots, peeled and chopped
• 1 Tbsp honey
• 1 Tbsp olive oil, jojoba oil, or almond oil
• Juice of 1 lemon
Steam carrots until soft, then mash with a fork until smooth. Add the honey, oil, and lemon juice (between 1 tsp for dry skin and 1 Tbsp for oily skin). Smooth masque over clean skin, and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
3) Avocado Cleanser for Dry Skin:
• 1 Tbsp avocado oil
• 1 Tbsp honey
• 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Whip ingredients together with a fork until smooth. Apply to skin using gentle circular movements, and allow it to remain on skin for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. The vinegar smell will disappear momentarily. Use this cleanser immediately.
4) Skin revitalizing orange peel mask:-
• 1 egg yolk
• 1 tsp honey
• 1/8 cup fresh citrus (lemon, orange or lime) juice
• 1 packet plain gelatin
Mix together thoroughly, and apply to skin for 20 to 25 minutes.

Oranges are a great source of AHAs and vitamin C, which are clinically proven to prevent wrinkles and fine lines.
5) Banana face pack:-
• 1 Ripe Banana
• 2 Tablespoons Pure Honey
Peel and mash the bananas with a fork in a bowl. Once the banana has no chunks in it and is soft enough a paste, add honey and mix. To facilitate mixing, heat honey for a few seconds in the microwave, but make sure it is not hot then add it to the banana paste. Only after it is well-mixed, apply the mask on your face and neck after cleansing. Leave on for 25-30 minutes and then rinse with warm water and a mild detergent. Tap gently with a soft towel and follow with a moisturizer without oil.
