Google ties up with HTC for Pixel, Pixel XL sales in India:-Earlier this month, Google introduced the 5-inch Pixel and 5.5-inch Pixel XL Smartphones. Pre-orders for Pixel Smartphones in India initiates tomorrow with deliveries planned for the month end. Google apparently will be leveraging HTC’s retail and after-sales services in the country for Pixel. One of the biggest questions whenever a new company launches a Smartphone is its after-sale services and since, Google Pixel is recently launched in the country, its case is no different.
That is why Google is said to be tying with HTC for its retail network and after-sales services. Though no official statement confirmed the speculations of HTC manufacturing the Smartphone for Google, the partnership for after-sales services could be a clue for the same.

A Google spokesperson said “We have partnered with HTC India for after-sales service in 56 walk-in service centres in over 30 cities.” And further added “Redington India is our national distributor for all channels in India.”
The company will provide a toll-free customer care for solving the customer queries and the pixel Smartphones will be available online through Flipkart and offline via chains like Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, Jumbo, and Sangeetha Mobiles among others.
Tarun Pathak, senior analyst at Counterpoint Research said “Pixel is surely a shift from its traditional strategy only with the role reversals between Google and its partner.”
Google Pixel and Pixel XL seems to be the only competition left to Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus after Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s uneventful production suspension. Considering how handful Indian customers can prove to be at times, partnering with HTC was certainly a smart move by Google but due to the upcoming festive season in India, it will be interesting to see if Google will be able to the meet the demands of Indian customers.
