Girls wear skirts and boys wear pants as a school uniform but one of the Australian school has changed the policy. According to reports, Sydney’s Newtown High School of the Performing Arts have changed their uniform policy, now boys can wear skirts and girls can wear pants.
School has also extended the policy to students being able to refer themselves as male or female and that those, who identify as a girl will be able to use the female toilets. The school is located in one of the progressive areas of Sydney and school policies allow transitioning and transitioned students to wear the uniform of their choice and use appropriate toilets.
Parents and students are supporting this policy while it is highly criticised by the Australian Christian Lobby.
