External Affairs Ministry has officially announced Gautam Bambawale as the next ambassador to Pakistan. Gautam Bambawale is an Indian Foreign Service officer of 1984 group.
Bambawale, who is India’s diplomat to Bhutan at present, will replace T CA Raghavan, who is retiring from the post at the end of this month.
Bambawale has also worked in Germany, US and China. In 2007, he became the first diplomat General of India in Guangzhou in China.
Before taking up posting in Bhutan in 2014, he has held the charge of Joint Secretary of East Asian countries like China, Japan and South Korea and among others in the head office in ministry.
