Delhi’s Garden Festival is celebrated every year in the month of February. Fragrance laden air and colorful flowers are a treat to eyes. Delhi’s Garden Festival is a pleasurable sight for all the five senses.
The event is a spectacular occasion for the spectators. The Garden Tourism Festival was first organized in 2004 and since then it is being held in February every year.
The festival is held for three days and a variety of exotic plants and flowers are displayed.
The festival showcases beautiful flowers, fountains, trees, horticultural demonstrations, etc.
Different varieties of flowers such as dahlias, potted plants, roses, home plants, bonsai, etc. are displayed at the festival.
‘Flower enthusiasts and horticulturists find it a great place during the festival. Apart from flower display, painting competitions for children, art camp for budding artists and thematic cultural shows to entertain the visitors are also held at this festival. Flowers are arranged in a popular Japanese art called Ikebana.’
‘There is also another annual garden festival, which is held at the ancient Talkatora Gardens. It also displays hundreds of colorful flowers and exotic plants that twinkle viewers’ eyes.’
Besides India, a number of other countries participate in the Delhi’s Garden Festival. It is a great occasion for building better relations amongst the Asian region.
