Trump visits Israel amid tight security
US President Donald Trump will today visit Israel and the Palestinian as he continues his Middle East Trip. According to reports, he is expected to hold talks with both Israeli and Palestinian leaders during his two- day visit.
Notably, US president has called an Israeli – Palestinian peace agreement the “ultimate deal”, but it is still vague about what form should it take.
The President added that he prefers to leave it to both sides to decide between them in direct talks. Notably, at a Summit in Riyadh on Sunday, Donald Trump called in Arab and the Muslim leaders to take lead in combating Islamist militants and he has urged them to “drive them out of this earth.”
As per reports, during his speech he singled out Iran, saying “it had fuelled the fire of terror in the region for decades.”
Hitting back on Trump, Iran’s Foreign Minister said, “the US was milking Saudi Arabia for billions of dollars in newly – signed arms deals.”
During his speech, he also mention that peace between Israelis and Palestinians was possible. Notably, Donald Trump has been widely seen more supportive of Israel than his predecessor, Barack Obama. He has taken a softer position on the issue of Israel. The US President has also sent out mixed signals on the issue of Jerusalem, pledging to move the US embassy from there.
After visiting Israel, President is expected to visit Brussels, Vatican, and Sicily.
