5 upcoming Bollywood remakes
Dharma Productions film studio owned by Karan Johar has churned out several blockbusters, high grossing movies over the past few years. From movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham to the recent Kapoor and sons, Karan Johar as a director, has proved his capabilities every time. Recently, Karan Johar has purchased the rights of “Oopiri” a super-successful south Indian film about a wheelchair-bound billionaire and his male caregiver. Check out 5 upcoming Bollywood remakes.
First to feature in this Bollywood remakes list is this classic movie Khalnayak. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is keen on making a remake of this movie and even had a word with Subhash Ghai. The two reportedly met over lunch and Ghai demanded 9 crores for the sale of the rights! The deal, however, is yet to be sealed.
2. Ram Lakhan
Subhash Ghai has already sold the rights to his movie “Ram Lakhan” to Karan Johar. The film will be directed by Rohit Shetty. The role of the younger brother Lakhan will be played by Varun Dhawan, while Sid will play the role of the elder brother Ram. The movie will surely be one of the best Bollywood remakes.
3. Khoon Bhari Mang
Rakesh Roshan’s 1988 thriller is being adapted to an Australian series, “Return to Eden”. Reportedly, Deepika has been approached to play the role of the lead actress- Rekha.
4. Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi
Apparently Rohit Shetty will be directing the Bollywood remake of the Kishore Kumar-Madhubala starrer film with Shahrukh and Aishwarya in lead roles. The two will be paired after 12 years as they were last seen in Devdas.
Manish Paul will replace Sohum Shah in the Bollywood remake of this 1983 cult classic. Manish will play the role of veteran actor Farooq Shaikh.
