How much money did this year’s Met Gala rais

Met Gala started in 1948 as a fundraiser for the only department within Costume Institute that is responsible for the yearly winning amount of its budget. From 1999 to date, Anna Wintour, the mercurial editor-in-chief of Condé Nast, the company that publishes Vogue Magazine as well as numerous other magazines, has used her contacts in order to turn the gala into an immensely profitable intermingling of celebrities, sponsors, and brands.

The ticket prices for the Met Gala have gone up by a considerable margin. An old-time ticket for the 2015 party gala cost precisely one-third what a ticket for the same event now costs.

In addition to the cash raised through sponsorships, the Met gala now attracted high-profile sponsors, including the publishing company Condé Nast, the prestige fashion brand Loewe and social media giant TikTok, currently facing a possible ban in the United States. Among the honorary chairs of the gala evening, we should name Loewe’s designer, Jonathan Anderson, and TikTok’s chief executive, Shou Chew.

The events churn philanthropy in their favor to subsidize many other cultural venues in the city.
