The handsome fast pace bowler, Brett Lee turns 40 today. The international cricketer retired from international cricket on 13th July 2012. He started his acting career with the Indo-Australian film, “Unindian”.
Brett was born in Wollongong in New South Wales in Australia in 1976 to father Bob and mother Helen Duxton. He attended Oak Flats High School where he played his first official cricket game at the age of 9.
Lee has been the part of Australian cricket team when it won World Cup in 2003 and 2007. This lower-order batsmen has always been praised for his athletic fielding skills.
Brett Lee is an enthusiastic musician as well, who has written number of songs with Mick Vawdon. He even had performed with India’s legendary singer, Asha Bhosle in the single, “You’re the one”.
Lee was married to the TV actress Elizabeth Kemp from 2006 to 2009 and the duo has a son together, Preston Charles. He is currently married to the socialite Lana Anderson, who gave birth to their daughter, Helena last year.
Brett is also one of the very few players to take more than 300 wickets in test cricket.
Among the countless achievements of the birthday, one of the most memorable one is for being the very first player to take hat-trick in Twenty-20 International cricket.
Lee constantly supports various charities. He is also the part of the ‘White Shoe Theory’ music Band which was formed by Lee himself.
Surprisingly, he claims Sachin Tendulkar to be his favourite cricketer along with Bowler Allan Donald.
The cricket star was seen touring India this year while promoting, Anupam Sharma directed film, Unindian. He even visited many popular Hindi shows like Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, The Kapil Sharma Show etc.
