CoA tells BCCI to announce head coach today: Reports
According to a report, CoA has told BCCI to announce India Head Coach today. Notably, after three- member Cricket Advisory Committee comprising of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman have put the decision of head coach on hold despite completion of interview process, the CoA has asked BCCI to announce head coach without any further delay.
During a press conference on Monday, Sourav Ganguly had stated that CAC will hold a detailed conversation with Indian captain Virat Kohli once he is back from West Indies as he needs to understand how coach operates. Notably, CAC interviewed 5 people for the post of Head Coach and at the end they said that they need some more time to come out with a decision.
Notably, the fresh delay in the appointment of a coach comes 47 days after the BCCI invited applications for the role. In a statement Ganguly said, ” We need to talk to few more players, especially the captain, and then we will make an announcement as we feel there is no hurry at the moment.” He also revealed that head coach would be given the contract till world cup 2019.
Sourav Ganguly’s words made it clear that they are looking at the bigger picture for next two years and they will not take any decision in hurry.
Notably, Anil Kumble had stepped down from his post of head coach due to his not – so- good equation with the Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli, reports claimed. And since then, BCCI is finding new head coach for Indian cricket team.
