Congress against release of the movie
Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming movie Indu Sarkar is continuously facing problems. A petition to ban this movie has been filed in Pune. A social activist of Pune, Anwar Sheikh has filed the petition in a court in Pune to ban the film. He has dragged the main roles of the movie along with Madhur Bhandarkar to the court. The movie is slated to release on 28th July.
Reason for the petition
Anwar Sheikh has said in his petition that this film has shown the emergency during Indira Gandhi’s government of 1974. If this film will get released, it will hurt the sentiments of the followers of Indira Gandhi. Moreover, there is a probability of violent reactions.
Indira’s followers may get violent and this can cause a chaos in the country. There is a possibility of arson and demolition.
Anwar also targeted Anupam Kher through his filed petition. He blamed him for provoking the sentiments of people through his tweets. The hearing on this petition is scheduled on the 24th July.
Protests are taking place since trailer launch
The film is facing protests right from the launch of its trailer. From legal notices to public agitation, Madhur Bhandarkar is facing everything. Sanjay Gandhi’s daughter claims that the movie has fraud scenes.
The star cast of the movie reached Pune on July 16th July for promotion. Before the promotion started, there reached some congress supporters. They urged PR agency to meet Madhur Bhandarkar. Due to security reasons, the press conference was cancelled. The same scene was seen in Nagpur. The congress supporters protested during the press conference of the movie star cast.
I’m not a Modi supporter: Bhandarkar
Madhur Bhandarkar on being blamed as a Modi supporter denies the fact. He said that he is not a Modi supporter, and that’s the reason why 17 scenes were cut from his film. If he would have been a ‘Modi Bhakt’ he would have released the movie as it is.
