As the Presidents Rule gets lifted from the north-eastern state ofArunachal Pradesh, a new CM has taken the office. Kalikho Pul, who was
a former Congress Leader has been sworn in as the ninth chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He was sworn in by governor KP Rajkhowa at Raj Bhawan in Itanagar. The new government was formed after Pranab
Mukherjee allowed the revocation of the President’s rule in Arunachal.
Mr Pul and 31 MLAs, including Congress rebels, BJP and many others had approached the governor to bring in a new government. It was on January 26, 2016 that the rule was invoked there after a crisis.
