McLaren Automotive popularly called as McLaren is originally a British automotive manufacturer of high-quality vehicles. In 1989, the company was formed as McLaren Cars as a producer of formula One technology.

The project of McLaren M6GT project was started when a New Zealander Bruce Mclaren finally Le Mans endurance racing car in the late 1960s.
‘The plan was to take an M6 Can-Am car and develop a coupe body that would be competitive in long distance racing. To meet regulations at the time a minimum of fifty cars had to be completed. However, homologation problems lead to the project being scrapped.’
McLaren harbored the ambition of building his own car, he turned the project in the ultimate road car. He dreamt of having the fastest and quickest car in the world.
In 1980 Ford declared the formation of SVO -Special Vehicle Operations division lead by Michael Kranefuss. The purpose of SVO was to “develop a series of limited-production performance cars and develop their image through motorsport.”
