Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ inspired by newspaper article
Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ inspired by newspaper article:- It is rather true that inspiration could be drawn from any little thing, no matter the size, shape, form, etc. This theory proved to be absolutely correct for Aamir Khan’s upcoming movie, ‘Dangal’, which was reportedly inspired by a small newspaper article published in 2012.
Apparently, Disney’s creative executive, Divya Rao was inspired by an article about a father who decides to train his daughter to become world class champion to imagine and write this movie. The article was related to Mahavir Singh Phogat, who despite the norms of the world decided to train his daughters in wrestling.
The story talks about the unimaginable decision taken by Mahavir to train his daughter in wrestling, a sport which is generally perceived to be for men in a state like Haryana, where cows are said to be more important than women.
Dangal is going to be the roller coaster ride for all the viewers and being Aamir Khan in the leading role is an added bonus.
According to sources, when Divya pitched the idea for the movie to Siddharth Roy Kapoor and the member of Disney, they were immediately convinced in working for the film.
For penning Divya’s imagination, they got Nitesh Tiwari on board soon after the agreement, who felt the soul in the movie and immediately flew to Haryana in order to meet Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters.
Once the story was penned, Aamir Khan was approached to play Phogat’s character on screen, who loved director’s narration and immediately agreed to be a part of the film.
The biological sports drama is set to be released in December this year and also stars SakshiTanwar, Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles.
