The one-horned rhinoceros is a vulnerable animal that is native to the Indian subcontinent. The Kaziranga National Park in Assam is one of the main sanctuaries where these animals can be found. The Kaziranga National Park is also a World Heritage Site.
Poaching in such places are a very common thing. In recent time, three rhinos have been poached in Kaziranga. Three Rhinos have been poached in a time frame of 40 days. The horn and other body parts were found to be missing. Considering the vulnerability of this species, the death of three is also a huge number.
It is high time that people realize the importance of conserving the depleting wildlife and do their bit to protect them.
