The Saffron Rose Festival is observed on 25th October in the town of Consuegra in Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. The festival honors the flower that according to Spanish zarzuela (operetta) “is born at sunrise and dies at dusk”.
The festival coincides with the dates of flower picking and various competitions are organized where the participants are supposed to pick maximum saffron in the shortest possible time.
The festival acknowledges the significance of saffron and the cultural and traditional culture of the region of Castile-La Mancha.
Consuegra is the province of Toledo, and celebrate the Saffron Rose Fiesta in the end of October.
